This is a recipe my wife put together many years ago. We eat it quite often actually, especially during the colder months. It’s a very tasty version of Sloppy Joes, and definitely a more healthier version!
Just a note for those who may have seen this article in the first 3 hours after publishing it. It was called Vegan, but I’ve since learned that the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce alone could cause it to not be purely vegan!
I used to serve it to my kids back when I first started eating it without telling them it was actually meatless crumbles, rather than ground meat. They never knew the difference, and they always came back for more.
So here it is! I believe you’re going to love it!
Meatless Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
1 12 oz. package of Boca meatless crumbles (or whatever brand you prefer)
1/3 cup each of chopped celery, onion, and green bell pepper
8 oz. can of tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1 T. firmly packed brown sugar
1 t. dry mustard
1/4 t. salt
1 t. pepper
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. vinegar
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients together in a saucepan and heat until the meatless crumbles are warm, stirring occasionally.
Like chili, it’s always better the second time.

We are making the switch to a vegan diet so I’m on the lookout for our “normal” staples and this one will fit right in! Thanks for sharing
Perfect! It really does taste great!
Wow, I’ve never tried a meatless version. Very cool!
Worcester sauce isn’t vegetarian, it contains fish oil. Last time I checked they had to kill the fish for that. Soy sauce would be a good substitution that is vegetarian/vegan.
