I came up with this as an alternative to my “Red Wine & Mustard Marinade“. Last time, (and the first time) I smoked venison in my “Smoked Red Wine & Mustard Venison Bites“, that’s what I used, and I wanted to smoke the venison in a sweeter marinade this time.
So I came up with this much sweeter version of a marinade and smoked the last of my venison. I wanted to keep the vinegar aspect of it to help break the venison down and keep it nice and tender, but I went with apple cider vinegar this time.
This marinade should work well with any meat, especially red meat. The sugar creates a nice sweet crust when grilled or smoked.
Sweet Apple Cider Marinade
Ingredients
1 cup Apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preparation
1) Mix all the ingredients together in microwave safe bowl.
2) Microwave on high for 30 seconds to dissolve the cinnamon. Put it in a sealable container and chill it to under 40 degrees F before mixing with meat to keep away that nasty old bacteria!

Always like a good marinade! Never tried one with these ingredients. Looks good. Thanks Curt!
Love using apple cider vinegar in marinades…makes everything good and tender!
I want to try this on pork chops ASAP. Sounds AMAZING!
That is just the type of marinade I might throw together as apple cider vinegar is my “go to” vinegar. GREG
Sounds delish! I really like the vinegar/sugar type marinades adn this sounds terrific!
This sounds great! I like marinade that has sweet/tangy flavor so this is neat recipe.
