A good steak has such nice natural flavor, that you really don’t need to add a lot of spice or marinade to it. Some foods need to be kept simple, and a good juicy steak is one of those foods.
So, I’m grilling this nice juicy top round steak to medium rare and only putting a little black pepper and garlic salt on it. Let me tell ya, it absolutely melts in your mouth!
Ingredients
- 1 top round steak
- black pepper
- garlic salt
Preparation
- Lightly sprinkle one side of your steak with black pepper and garlic salt.
- On a medium hot grill, place the steak seasoned side down and quickly sear. Lightly season the side facing up and then flip it over and cook until done. You can flip it one more time if the second side is over cooking.
- Cook to medium rare. About 5 to 8 minutes. The center of the steak should be about 160° F with a digital meat thermometer.

Hi Curt, I totally agree. A good steak doesn’t need much. I’ll take a slice of that if it’s alright with you. Looks awesome.
