Well, my wife has done it again. She’s just a fountain of creative recipes! She has more recipes right now than I have time to prepare and photograph. Nope, that’s definitely not a complaint!
This chicken burger is so tasty with the sweet spices combined with diced apples and sharp cheddar cheese. You just have to try it to know how good it really is!
Grilled Cheesy Apple Pie Chicken Burger

1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
salt to taste
Preparation
1) Mix all the ingredients together except the salt. Form into 4 patties.
2) On a medium hot grill, cook them to your liking. They should take approximately 10 minutes. Salt to taste and serve them up.
Makes 4 servings.

Great idea to put the flavorings inside the burger!
Sounds really different and really good–I love the sweet/savory combo.
Oh, this sounds great, Curt! I bet the apple and cheese give great moisture to this burger. Your wife is a gem
I would never think to combine those foods, but the photo looks delicious.

Made these tonight – very good – even better than I expected! We topped ours with extra cheddar and some bacon – YUM! They are versatile enough that we think they’d be great with eggs for breakfast.
Great idea! I always mix powdered ranch dressing in my burgers but never thought of apples. Gotta try it!
How many calories?
I might try them with quorn!
Your wife is very creative. These burgers sound fantastic. Easy combination of ingredients with big flavor!
Thanks Kristi. They are very tasty. My wife has another favorite of mine she created using Craisins and walnuts in the ground turkey.
Does this mixture hold together well enough to use as cocktail meatballs? I think the flavors would go well with a dipper like the Thai chili sauce from Trader Joe’s.
I would think so. You would probably want to cut the apples into nice small chunks.
what kind of apples did you use?
Hi Meg. We used golden delicious apples. That’s considered more of a baking apple, so we knew they would cook up nice.
