This actually should be called “Banana Peanut Butter Bread w/Chocolate Chips”, but that’s too long of a name and kinda dorky sounding. But for me, the addition of chocolate chips completes the recipe.
This is something my wife has made every now and then for the last couple years. It’s definitely one of my favorites. This recipe was taken from allrecipes.com, and has not been modified from the original.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 2 bananas, mashed
- 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease a 5” x 9” loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Stir in peanut butter, bananas, flour, and baking soda until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 70 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center of loaf comes out clean. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
- If desired, top with peanut butter glaze. Combine 1 cup powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons peanut butter, add 3 to 4 tablespoons milk.

My first thought was of the peanut-butter banana sandwiches I ate as a child. This recipe sounds wonderful; and I want to make it soon, especially for my peanut-butter-loving son-in-law! Thanks!
This has all the flavors you want to eat in 1 bite…The combination is a sure hit! Will try this, surely!
I WILL be making this when I have access to a decent oven again. Peanut butter makes everything better!
